Your first labelled master.
- Import one or more video files. Let Shotlabel detect cuts and group visually similar shots.
- Inspect the shot list and player. Adjust in/out points or split and merge boundaries.
- For every shot, choose No label, Modified or Generated. Choose the official artwork in Settings. Use Output → Safe zones → Position to preview delivery margins and save label position and width per preset or aspect ratio.
- Choose delivery or ProRes presets, then export after activation. Review the final files.
System requirements
The current release requires an Apple Silicon Mac and macOS 12 or later. macOS 11, which shipped on the first M1 Macs, is not supported by this build. Runtime verification was performed on current macOS; macOS 12 compatibility has been checked at build time, without a physical macOS 12 test machine. Intel Macs are not included in this release.
The included vision model adds about 1.55 GB of model data. It loads only for advisory checks; shot detection and grouping work independently. A base M1 with 8 GB should use one task at a time and close other memory-heavy apps. We have not yet benchmarked the included assistant on an 8 GB M1 and make no speed guarantee.
Full mastering needs compatible FFmpeg and FFprobe on your Mac. Native display-copy export uses macOS frameworks. ProRes, H.264, HEVC, VP9 and XDCAM options depend on the selected local encoder build and source. SDR is supported; HDR/linear exports are blocked pending colour-managed finishing.
Social safe zones
Preview 13 guides, including published Meta, Google/YouTube and TikTok ad margins, plus editorial and custom guides. Fit the whole label inside a guide or override its position and size for each delivery preset and output aspect ratio. Guides stay out of your exports. Ad guides do not guarantee clearance of organic-post UI, captions or every device.
Trial and serial activation
Download the trial, open Shotlabel and import your files. The trial has no time limit and cannot export. After purchase, copy your serial from the order page and enter it in Settings → Licence. Internet access is required once to verify it. Eligible versions then remain licensed offline.
Replacing a Mac
Deactivate in the app before retiring the Mac. If you cannot access it, open Manage licence with the serial and release its activation. A serial allows two active Macs. Keep your serial private.

Questions
What does Shotlabel do?
Find cuts across multiple videos, group matching shots, choose AI labels and export your masters.
How do I add an AI label?
Import your videos, review each shot, choose Generated or Modified, set the label and export.
Does every AI edit need a label?
No. Article 50 has different duties for providers and deployers, and an adapted approach for creative works. Check the production and distribution context.
Do labels need a thick black outline?
No extra outline is required. Choose the original black, white or 50% artwork and check its contrast against the picture.
Can AI decide which shots need labels?
No. The local assistant describes shots and suggests review questions. You establish provenance and decide each label.
Does my footage leave my Mac?
No footage is uploaded. Detection, grouping, model checks and encoding run locally. Purchasing and activation contact our services.
What can I do in the trial?
Import, review, edit and save projects. Activate to export videos, reports or preset libraries.
How does the licence work?
Buy once for two Macs. One year of upgrades is included; eligible versions keep working offline. Deactivate a Mac to replace it.
Which encoding presets are included?
33 built in: 29 delivery targets and 4 ProRes masters. Add your own. Full SDR mastering requires compatible local FFmpeg and FFprobe.
Does Shotlabel certify EU compliance?
No. You decide disclosure requirements. Visible labels and review reports do not replace machine-readable marking or create C2PA credentials.
